BYU to Fall to Kansas State

BYU completed a perfect nonconference slate by defeating old Mountain West rival Wyoming up in Laramie 34-14 Saturday night. The Cougars dominated in all three phases of the game as they doubled up on the Cowboys with an onslaught of points and yards.

However, despite their impressive start to the season, BYU is still a pick to fall to Kansas State. The Wildcats are one of my top contenders to make the Big 12 title game, and I believe they have the talent and depth to take down the Cougars.

Kansas State has been flying under the radar so far this season, but don’t let that fool you - they’re a team on the rise. They’ve got a stout defense that’s allowed just over 20 points per game, and an offense that’s averaging over 30 points per contest.

One of the main reasons I think Kansas State will be able to take down BYU is their ability to run the ball effectively. The Wildcats have a pair of talented running backs in Deuce Vaughn and Will Howard, who can both break tackles and make big plays with their legs.

On the other side of the ball, BYU’s offense has been clicking on all cylinders so far this season. They’ve got a quarterback in Jaren Hall who can make all the throws, and a pair of talented wide receivers in Gunner Romney and Dax Milne who can take it to the house at any time.

However, despite their impressive offense, I still believe Kansas State has the edge in this one. The Wildcats’ defense is too stout, and their running game is too potent for BYU’s offense to keep up with.

In the end, I’m predicting a 24-17 victory for Kansas State over BYU. It won’t be an easy win by any means - both teams will likely give it their all and leave everything on the field. But in the end, I believe the Wildcats have just a bit too much firepower to take down the Cougars.

So there you have it - my pick for this week’s game between BYU and Kansas State. It should be a great contest, and I’m excited to see how it all plays out!
