Day 2 Camp Recap: New Guys Shine

The LA Kings took to the ice again today, with a similar format to yesterday’s session. We’ve got details on the new guys, scrimmage updates, and an injury report for Kaliyev.

The schedule for the day remained the same, although there was a swap between Group A and Group B, with the latter taking the ice first for a morning skate. This allowed the coaching staff to get a better look at their players in game-like situations before making any adjustments.

The new guys shone today, with several prospects showing off their skills on the ice. The most notable was probably 2024 draftee, [Prospect Name], who put up some impressive numbers during the scrimmage. He showcased his speed and agility, making it difficult for defenders to keep up with him.

Other prospects who caught our eye were [Name] and [Name]. They both showed great chemistry on the ice and worked well together to create scoring opportunities.

The scrimmages also provided an opportunity for the coaching staff to test out different line combinations. We saw some familiar pairs reunited, while others were shuffled around to see how they would mesh.

One thing that stood out was the speed of the game. The players seemed to be moving at a much faster pace than what we’re used to seeing in preseason games. This is definitely a positive sign for the team as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Injury Report: We have an update on Kaliyev’s injury, who suffered a minor setback during yesterday’s session. He was seen limping off the ice and had his knee taped up after taking a fall into the boards. Fortunately, it seems that he’ll be back on the ice soon, as the coaching staff has assured us that he’s expected to be fully recovered by next week.

As we head into day 3 of camp, there’s definitely some excitement building around the team. With these new guys showing off their skills and the scrimmages providing valuable game-like experience, it’s clear that this is going to be a competitive season.

We’ll have more updates on the LA Kings as training camp continues. Stay tuned for our next recap!
