Higgins Set for MNF Return
After missing the first two weeks of the season, Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins said he plans to return for the team’s “Monday Night Football” game vs. Washington.
Higgins has been dealing with a hamstring injury that kept him out of the team’s first two games. However, it appears that he is now healthy enough to play in Monday’s matchup against the Commanders.
“I feel great,” Higgins said during a press conference on Thursday. “I’ve been working hard to get back on the field, and I’m excited to be able to play again.”
Higgins’ return will be a welcome one for the Bengals, who have struggled to find consistency in their passing game without him. The team’s offense has averaged just 15 points per game over its first two contests, with quarterback Joe Burrow throwing for under 200 yards each time out.
The Bengals are hoping that Higgins’ return will help to spark a turnaround in their offense, and they’re optimistic that he’ll be able to make an immediate impact on the field. “Tee is a talented player who can make big plays,” said Bengals coach Zac Taylor. “We’re glad to have him back, and we think he’ll be able to make some key contributions for us on Monday night.”
Higgins’ return will also be a boost to the team’s morale, which has been sagging in recent weeks. The Bengals are coming off a tough loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week, and they’re looking to bounce back with a win against the Commanders.
While Higgins is expected to play on Monday, his exact role on the team is still unclear. He may not be fully up to speed yet, and the team may choose to limit his snaps in order to protect him from further injury.
Regardless of how much he plays, however, Higgins’ return will be a welcome one for the Bengals, who are desperate for a spark in their offense. With him back on the field, the team is hoping to get its passing game going and make a push towards the playoffs.
